Introducing Master Baker
February 3, 2008 at 5:16 am | Posted in Welcome | 41 Comments
Lately I’ve become a bit of a foodie blog event junkie … Daring Bakers, Tuesdays with Dorie, Cupcake Hero and the list goes on. I love blog events, I think they’re fun and I like excuses to bake since baking because my hubby has an insatiable thirst for baked goods isn’t always a good enough excuse.
There are only so many events you can join up with and at this point the logical next step is to create my own event. After discussion with my VP of Events I have come up with the perfect event.
Master Baker … I pick the ingredient, you pick whatever baked goods you want to make. It’s easy, it’s basic, it’s fun. What could possibly be better? Nothing that’s what.
The rules are simple:
-I pick an ingredient each month and you bake whatever your little heart desires as long as it has that ingredient.
-Write up your blog post with a link back here.
-Send me a link to your blog post, along with your name and email address on or before the last day of the challenge. Emails should be sent to masterbakerchallenge at gmail dot com
-If you donโt have a blog, get one. In the meantime just email me (masterbakerchallenge at gmail dot com) a picture, the recipe and any thoughts or feelings you have towards your recipe.
– At the end of the month (the last day of the event) I will begin baking and choose my favorite baked good as our winner. I canโt promise Iโll make them all, but I promise to bake a bunch.
– For now the winner will pretty much get that wonderful warm fuzzy feeling in their heart and a swollen ego, but if a lot of people join in the fun I may be convinced to do something cool like having t-shirts or buttons or something fun made up for the winners. How cute would that banner (thanks Jess from Cuppycake Designs) look on just about anything?
– Nikki

Woo-hoo! Another baking event! I may as well just give up on this diet of mine, or increase my cardio. Maybe I’ll give up vegetables.

Oh, and if we’re joining can we put the little Master Baker button on our blog, or only if we win?

This is such a great idea! I’m running out of time for this month’s challenge…although I’ll still try. But if I miss it, I’ll definitely check back next month! May I put a copy of that logo on my sidebar? Only after I’ve completed a challenge, of course. =)
